For regular people who have average interests in technologically advanced gadgets, the iPad is perceived to be just another expensive instrument from Apple. By average interests, we mean people who don’t make it a point to analyze a just launched product nor visit the manufacturer’s web site with zeal. If they opt to visit Apple’s website, they most likely have been influenced to buy the gizmo due to media buzz and bullish selling. Non-techies will not think about its benefits and disadvantages just yet ; what they actually wish to know is, what precisely is an iPad and what does it do?

The iPad is a mobile PC ; it is thought to be revolutionary as it is neither a laptop PC nor an individual digital aid. It is unique in its own right most especially because of its tablet frame. It is slightly larger than a netbook by an inch and it does not have a keypad. Its multi-touch screen interface is the basic input methodology for this device ; but it may also be docked onto a keyboard accessory for fuss-free typing. As well as its multi-touch screen, the iPad is also programmed to be multi-oriented, so that the user can lean the frame from portrait to landscape according to his preference. Multi-touch suggests that the user can “tap ” and “drag ” 2 items on the display at once by employing fingers.

The Apple iPad is mainly designed for information consumption in the form of Web browsing, media, and gaming. Additionally, it can be used to create documents and similar content on a lighter level. The iPad draws power from thousands of applications that let this device to perform at high speed rate. Documents, spreadsheets and slide-show presentations can be created through iWork, which is Apple’s answer to Microsoft Office. As for the entertainment programs, there are lots to make a choice from. Basically, the default browser is Safari, which also happens to be created and designed by Apple engineers. Recently, Opera Mini has become available to iPad users as an alternative Web browser.

Media consumption is among the best offerings of the iPad. The crisp screen resolution lends justice to pictures, videos and e-books. The enhanced speaker system provides a great output for music and audio. Internet connectivity is powered by Wi-Fi and 3G. It possesses the highest speed in wireless Internet technology that overrides the speed of the hotspot offered in a specific location. To connect to a 3G network, the user must insert a 3G SIM card from a service supplier. Once the owner has completed the 3G network service application, he can switch from Wi-Fi to 3G connection anytime.

App icons are used to organize the iPad display. The user can choose his often used applications onto his Faves section and these can be simply accessed. It sounds rather like a pretty interactive machine which is what all contraptions are about. Techie professionals suggest that clients should wait a bit longer for the iPad to mature into the industry so we may all see what it can offer that our regular PCs and media devices cannot.

If you like to watch movies and online content, then the HP Pavilion DV6 3040US , available from Staples, is a very entertaining laptop. If you like to play 3D video games and listen to music via your PC speakers you probably won’t find this laptop all that appealing.

HP has updated the design of the dv6 3040us. The all-brushed aluminum chassis gives the laptop a solid feel and structure, but doesn’t seem to add that much more weight, as the system weighs just 5.4 pounds. There is an engraved streaming design embossed onto both the lid of the laptop and the area surrounding the touchpad. The previous iterations of the Pavilion laptops had a glossy Expresso Black plastic finish that looked pretty cool but made the notebooks into giant fingerprint magnets. The dv6-3040us has a full-sized, island-style keyboard, but true to its entertainment theme, doesn’t have a numeric keypad. The keys are not as soft as previous HP Pavilion laptops; instead the keyboard in HP pavilion Dv6 3040 offers good solid feedback for those who like to type aggressively. The keys are also well-spaced, a boon for touch typists.

The 15.6-inch, 1,366 by 768 resolution screen is quite bright, and the colors are vivid without being oversaturated. The screen is technically HD and the resolution is a bit better than 720p but is nowhere near 1080i, which is the “true” HD standard. That said, you’ll still be able to watch HD content, either streaming or on the included Blu-ray drive but it won’t be at the level as it would be on, say, an 1080i HDTV. HP also decided not to include the handy little media player remote and Express card slot that it included in the previous design of the dv6

Thus, If you want to buy  Awesome and Worth Every Penny laptop this year then it has to be the HP pavilion Dv6 3040US
